Massachusetts Residential Solar Incentives:

Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit/Solar Grant (ITC)
30% of the cost of the solar property as a tax credit or cash grant.

Commonwealth Solar Rebate*
$0.40-$1.85/watt up to a 15kW system. The rebate amount applies to the first 5kW only.

Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) Program
Earn one (1) SREC for every 1,000 kwh's your solar PV system produces. These can be sold or traded over a 10-year period; average value is approximately $500. 

Residential Income Tax Credit
15% tax credit against the state income tax up to $1,000.
*Available to Fitchburg Gas & Electric Light, National Grid, NSTAR Electric, Western Massachusetts Electric and certain municipal light and plant utility customers.
