Overview

Mercury Energy, Inc. (formerly Aquus Energy) is the parent company of Mercury Solar Systems, one of the leading solar integrators on the East Coast. Our strategy is to grow both organically and through strategic acquisitions.

We secured financing through Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. in August 2008 giving us the strength and flexibility to finance large-scale projects and future acquisitions. To date, we have made several strategic acquisitions throughout the New York metropolitan area and are actively exploring other potential opportunities to expand our operations throughout the U.S.

Our team at Mercury Solar Systems has decades of industry experience in electrical and structural engineering, solar design and installation, and finance. This unparalleled mix of experience has enabled us to install hundreds of solar electric and thermal energy systems of varying complexity for our commercial, residential and non-profit customer base.

Since Mercury Solar Systems was founded in 2006, we have redefined the role of solar companies by delivering customized solutions for businesses, individuals and non-profits to meet their energy needs with a high level of customer service. We believe this sets us apart from other firms in this industry and has enabled us to become the largest solar integrator in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

We have experienced tremendous organic growth the past several years aided by the acquisition of several solar companies. Our first acquisition was New York-based Sunstruck Design in November 2006. This provided us an instant footprint in Southern New York and enabled us to hire Lloyd Hoffstatter, one of the leading solar designers in all of the country.  Our second acquisition was Energy Enterprises in August 2008. Energy Enterprises has installed over 10% of all residential solar energy systems in New Jersey and allowed us to establish the Mercury brand in that market.

Our most recent acquisition was K-Star Solar, one of the leading residential solar installers in Long Island, NY, in June 2009.
