Mercury Solar Systems is one of the largest and fastest growing renewable energy companies in the country.  We are bringing the virtues of electricity savings and “green credits” to every household and business in the Northeast.  The firm is now accepting applications for Canvassing Managers in our NJ (Central & South) and Westchester County (NY) locations.

REPORTS TO: Sales Manager

MISSION: Recruit, train, participate and manage team of canvassers that will engage prospective homeowners in given areas to target qualified homes that would benefit from going solar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Training and motivating canvass team to supply company with a steady flow of qualified leads
  • Identify qualified geographic areas to target each day
  • Create excitement for the product with canvass team and potential customers
  • Schedule appointments with potential customers
  • Maintain team sales activity and contact standards
  • Meet daily, weekly and monthly sales quotas

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong closing and communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic and self-starter attitude
  • Must have clean driving record

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1 – 2 years of experience B2C or B2B preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with:
    • Team leader position at outside sales organizations.
    • Previous experience setting appointments with prospective homeowners.
    • Proven success and track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals or quotas.
    • Working in an unsupervised position.

We are now accepting applications for Solar Advocates in our Westchester County (NY), NJ, and MA (Boston area) locations.

REPORTS TO: Sales Manager

MISSION: Engage prospective homeowners in given areas to target qualified homes that would benefit from going solar

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn solar training and a pitch to explain to prospective homeowners.
  • Covers a designated number of homes per day and convinces homeowners to take in-home appointments at a future date from a solar professional.
  • Provides nightly reporting of leads/appointments and hours worked.
  • Enter all pertinent information into web portal on a nightly basis.
  • Attends all ongoing training sessions to keep up with market expansion and job duties.
  • Attends daily conference calls (and sometimes in person) managed by Canvas Manager.
  • Reports to trainers with hours, leads and appointments for review.

  • 1 – 2 years of experience B2C or B2B preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with:

    • Kiosk or Retail experience.
    • Previous experience setting appointments with prospective homeowners.
    • Proven success and track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals or quotas.
    • Working in an unsupervised position.

COMPENSATION

  • $10/hour up to 20 hours per week
  • Bonus structure of $25/appointment and $100/sale

The successful candidate will have some outside sales experience, such as selling financial products, home improvements, real estate, B2B or other experience using applicable sales skills (solar experience is a plus).  Successful sales professionals today earn well over $100,000.

  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • High urgency, high energy, positive, enthusiastic, self-driven.
  • Detail oriented in order to accurately complete required contracts with customers.
  • Collaborative style with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other computer software.
  • Competency in Internet navigation, the use of CRM (Salesforce).
  • Reliable vehicle and insurance.
